This article is a wrap-up of what happened on TomRoelandts.com in 2017.
The major “feature” this year was that I managed to post nothing at all from April through October… This despite having managed to stay at least reasonably close to some sort of regular posting schedule for several years now. The main reason is that my consulting business took a lot of time, but I do hope to have some more time over the coming months, so that I can pick up my usual posting rythm again.
Since much of your interest is still directed towards the articles on filter design, there are some things in the pipeline about that. I plan articles on the phase response of filters and on the neat trick of simply applying a filter twice to greatly increase its ability to suppress the frequencies in the stop band.
You are also free to ask for specific stuff that you’d like to see covered. Let me know via the contact page, or leave a comment on one of the articles. From those comments, I’ve gotten the inspiration for articles such as The Transition Bandwidth of a Filter Depends on the Window Type and How to Plot the Frequency Response of a Filter. Tips for other ones are quite welcome.
I wish you all the best for 2018!
